Understanding True Value By: Pastor Dewayne

UNDERSTANDING TRUE VALUE

Matthew 13:44-45

"The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, And then in his joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

In the first parable, this guy finds this treasure of value and he is so convinced of its value that in his joy he goes and sells everything that he has and buys the field. As you can easily see understanding the Kingdom of God is more valuable than all of your earthly possessions. In the next parable it's a pearl merchant, someone who knows quality when he sees it and he finds a pearl that's of such great value that he liquidates everything else in his business and his home in order to purchase that pearl. Now, it's absolutely clear that the pearl is of greatest value and this treasure in the field is not a religion. It's a kingdom. It's the kingdom that is going to end all kingdoms. And what Jesus is saying here is that when we really appreciate the magnitude of what God is doing, then we should be ready to sell everything that we are and even walk away from man made religion that was established by a man made. Your eyes will be open to the fact that religion is of no value but the Kingdom of God is worth all that you have to obtain it.

So why is the kingdom so valuable? It's the power and authority of ministry that happens as an expression of the kingdom coming. Ministry will have power and authority as it calls other people to be part of the Kingdom of God. It's the change that will happen in the lives of people because they are now members of the Kingdom of God. Jesus taught us to pray for the Kingdom to come in Matthew 6:10 and immediately after we pray Thy Kingdom come, the very next part of the prayer is Thy will be done. If we can ever just stand on God’s Word, our life on earth will line up with the life God has planned for us. Because the prayer continues with on earth as it is in heaven. One of the biggest problems with church folks today is they are just looking to get off earth and into heaven. But Jesus taught us to get the Kingdom of God into the earth. God does not just want us to hurry up and die. God wants us to bring His Kingdom into this earth and make this place like His place. It’s not hurry up and die, it’s hurry up and bring, bring the Kingdom. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Simply put make everything on earth as it is in heaven.

Why would Jesus tell us to pray this way?

Because when the Kingdom comes into your life sickness can no longer live in the Kingdom of God.

Because when the Kingdom comes into your life depression can no longer live in the Kingdom of God.

Because when the Kingdom comes into your life drugs and alcohol can no longer live in the Kingdom of God.

Because when the Kingdom comes into your life divorce and separation can no longer live in the Kingdom of God. Children will again grow up with a momma and a daddy.

Because when the Kingdom comes division will no longer rule our churches and we will come into unity and the fullness of Christ.

I hope you get my point the Kingdom of God will take up occupancy in your life and you will be come a new creature adopted into the Kingdom of God. Now the kingdom is not looking to show up in a church building, it’s looking to show up in you. You are what makes the church, you are what God desires to use not a building. The church is not bricks, wood, glass, or carpet. No, the church is people. You can never go to a church building. You can only take the church to a location. It’s not where do you go to church, You are the church. You never build a church by expanding the size of a building. This only gives you a larger building. The only way the church grows is by introducing the Kingdom of God and snatching souls from the ruler of this world and making them citizens in God’s Kingdom.

I was recently talking to a wonderful group of friends that are about to take on Hell head on. They will be starting a campus tour across many states around September 2008. What I so wanted to impress upon their hearts was the importance of their ministry. For many, many years Satan has understood the importance of influence or “The Power of Influence.” The very people that are occupying the campuses of our colleges and universities across this world will be our next leaders and decision makers. They will be the next leaders that will form our beliefs and make laws that govern our world. Satan has been working very hard for years to influence our leaders to create and implement laws that will work in opposition to the Kingdom of God. Just look at the impact on abortion, same sex marriage, gay pastors, removal of prayer in school, removal of the 10 commandments from public buildings and so on and so on. It’s time that we reestablish the Kingdom of God on this earth. I applaud this group of young people as they embark on a mission to take souls from the ruler of this world and to renew the minds of leaders with knowledge of the Kingdom of God.

One of the most amazing topics that we discussed was value. You have mothers and fathers that value the life of their children so much that they will literally spend $100,000.00 on a vehicle to ensure their safety. OK you’re right a few people might just be doing it out of pride. But never-the-less mothers and fathers don’t want their children in dangerous vehicles or dangerous parts of town. It’s amazing of how much they love the physical part of their children but seem to care so little if at all about the spiritual part of their children. Many parents fail to realize or to care that one day they had intercourse and created something eternal. We are so created in the image of God that when man and woman become as one, they have the power to create eternity. My point is the most valuable thing about a person is not their face, or their personality, or their family inheritance. This will all pass away one day but their soul is eternal. My question to parents is this have you invested anything into protecting the most valuable part of your child’s life. Have you done anything to ensure that they are a citizen in the Kingdom of God? Their soul will live forever the only question is where. You may be saying “you are being too hard about this subject, you have offended me.” I will tell you this is not as hard as your child missing the blessing of spending eternity in the Kingdom of God. Please make sure you invest into the most valuable part of your child’s life.

I would encourage you and or your church to support this powerful ministry that will be winning souls and changing leaders on the campuses in America. If you want to invest then invest into the most valuable thing in all of the earth “soul winning.” There is nothing more valuable than a soul. This ministry is headed up by Travis Greene of Warner Robins, Georgia. He has a powerful anointing that allows him to be relevant as he ministers in Word and in music. In the Kingdom the work of lost souls is everyone’s responsibility. Don’t just sit back and say that you don’t have anything to do with this ministry. Winning souls for the Kingdom of God is everyone’s responsibility. Travis can’t do this without financial support nor does God expect him to. If you are interested in supporting this powerful ministry please contact JaQuanda Elder at (641) 715-3900 Ext 21186 or via email at jelder@beworldwide.org

Remember finding the Kingdom of God is worth all that one has. Nothing is more valuable than a soul being adopted into the Kingdom.
